Here at Firestone Walker, we don’t just brew for today, we’re brewing for tomorrow. And this Earth Day, we’re raising a glass to the planet we call home with a little extra intention (and a lot of flavor).
Sustainability has always been part of our brewing DNA. From our roots on California’s Central Coast, we’ve built a brewing culture that respects the land, the water, and the people who make great beer possible. That’s why we’re proud to say that every pint poured is backed by real action: reclaimed water, renewable energy, local ingredients, and smarter systems that help us tread lighter while brewing bolder.
But words can only say so much. So, we put together a video with our local friends at Slocal, breaking down our efforts and how we’re brewing for tomorrow.
We’re Not Just Brewing For Today
Want some more examples? Take water, for instance. We recycle about 30 million gallons of process water each year, treating it on-site and repurposing it to support the surrounding landscape. Our solar array cranks out nearly a megawatt of power, helping reduce our reliance on fossil fuels. And our closed-loop grain system sends spent grain to local farms for cattle feed—because nothing goes to waste when you respect the full cycle, and you can learn all about it and more on our Brewing For Tomorrow page today.
We’re Brewing For Tomorrow
This Earth Day, we’re also celebrating with beers like Sunglider, a crisp, floral golden lager brewed with heirloom Atlas barley grown just a few miles away in Paso Robles and floor-malted in Alameda. It’s our latest small-batch brew that showcases how sustainability and flavor can ride in the same lane.

But, the bottom line is great beer shouldn’t come at the planet’s expense. We’re proof that you can brew world-class beers while doing right by the Earth, one step (and one sip) at a time.
So here’s to clean water, clean energy, and clean, crisp, delicious beers. Let’s drink to tomorrow.
