Our Hopnosis IPA has claimed another accolade – this time at the Brussels Beer Challenge. Coming just weeks after the beer’s gold-medal win at the European Beer Star, the BBC panel of 85 international experts honored Hopnosis with the silver medal in the American Pale Ale category.
Now in its tenth year, the Brussels Beer Challenge was the first professional beer competition in Belgium, and it’s grown to become one of the largest and most prestigious competitions in the world.
Each of the 1,800 submitted beers is judged by a panel of experts from across the industry – from bloggers and journalists to brewers and beer sommeliers. After being divided into categories based on origin, typology, and style, the beers are tasted and the best are awarded with a gold, silver, or bronze medal.
In that context, a silver medal at the Brussels Beer Challenge is a considerable achievement for Hopnosis, a West Coast-style IPA we launched less than a year ago.
“Hopnosis represents everything we’ve learned about hopping techniques over the years, all rolled into one beer,” said Brewmaster Matt Brynildson.
Mosaic Cryo HopsĀ® are the centerpiece of Hopnosis. Cryo HopsĀ® are made by collecting the concentrated lupulin from whole-leaf hops, which contains the pure resins for bitterness and aromatic oils. These hops provide intense aroma and flavor with incredible integration, allowing for a hop-forward beer that is super smooth and low in bitterness.
