Has the wookey come in from the cold? It appears they have…
“The Wookey never dies – it just hibernates,” Brewmaster Matt Brynildson once said. And this season, it looks like the Wookey isn’t hitting the alarm any more and is out and about for the winter.
But first, some context: Wookey Jack has been one of our biggest fan favorites since its introduction in 2012, coming back for occasional limited and seasonal releases since it was retired from full-time production in 2016.
And now, it’s back. And fully reimagined. Meet, Arctic Wookey, our latest take on a classic. A Cold Black IPA loaded with flavor, Arctic Wookey is our pedestal black rye IPA reimagined with a crisp lager fermentation and a touch of rice for an even more assertively dank and resinous hop profile from liberal additions of Citra and Strata hops in the kettle and dry hop. These changes elevate the already dank and resinous hop profile to frigid new heights. It’s as black and cold as your blessed heart.’
Arctic Wookey is available on draft and in cans in our Venice taproom now and will be rolling out to our Buellton, and Paso Robles taprooms starting early next week. It’ll make all other beers look abominable, so grab a four-pack of Arctic Wookey for the season while you can. But you better not wait, it’ll be gone before you know it. And like the tree on Christmas morning, no one likes to wake up to an empty fridge.
